Hokusai meets Online Ceramics at a cafe on the Detroit River.

Strait Sounds is a small, patient record label. We press melodic and deep house records that sound like a shift change at the locks — patient bass, warm pads, a little weather.

The visual language is unbleached washi, indigo waves, and a single seal of shuiro vermillion per release. Everything else — the cream, the monospace, the hairlines — stays out of the way.
